[Free Process Freezer](https://www.appinn.com/free-process-freezer.md) 是一个相当牛叉的软件，可以**暂停任意进程**，命令提示符除外（via [scavin](http://www.appinn.com/author/scavin/)）。大家都知道任务管理器可以拿来结束进程，可是暂停进程到底是个什么概念？@[sfufoet](http://www.appinn.com/author/sfufoet/) 我测试了一个多小时，感觉暂停进程就是**暂时停止掉某个软件对 CPU 的占用**，内存不变。被暂停的软件会呈现点击什么都没反应的状态，而且声音动画都被冻住了。

[Free Process Freezer](https://www.appinn.com/free-process-freezer.md) 的用法很简单，找到要暂停的进程，对同名的进程注意看 ID（对于任务管理器里面进程的 PID），然后点击 Suspend process 就行了，想恢复就点击 Resume process。

**注意**：暂停之后，千万不要关闭 [Free Process Freezer](https://www.appinn.com/free-process-freezer.md)，不然，你只能结束掉被暂停的进程了。另外，[Free Process Freezer](https://www.appinn.com/free-process-freezer.md) 可以暂停它自己。我在测试 Firefox 的过程中，Gmail 的载入被冻结之后恢复，载入进度条不动了，刷新也没用，只能关闭标签，再重新打开 Gmail。也就是说**要注意备份好重要数据**。

Free Process Freezer 在这样的情况下很有用：不想关闭某个霸占 CPU 进程，却又不得不运行其他的进程，与其卡死，不如先暂停掉，等运行完其他的程序再继续。
